Men's Basketball

Palominos Gallop to Dominant Win, Maintain Perfect Conference Streak

PAC Remains Flawless

The Palo Alto College Palominos Men's Basketball continued their scorched-earth policy in conference play, dismantling Northwest Vista College 96-76 in a performance that was as clinical as it was explosive. With the victory, the Palominos surge to 19-13 overall and remain a flawless 8-0 in conference action, further cementing their status as the team to beat in the region.

From the opening tip-off, Palo Alto set a relentless tempo that Northwest Vista simply couldn't match. The Palominos never trailed, dictating pace with precision ball movement and punishing transition play. Every run by the Wildcats was met with an emphatic response, as Palo Alto showcased the poise and firepower of a championship-caliber squad.

While the starters established the tone, the depth of the Palominos proved to be the ultimate X-factor. The bench poured in 32 points, maintaining the same high-octane intensity and ensuring there was no drop-off when the primary rotation caught a breather. Wave after wave, Palo Alto kept coming.

Double Doubles All Around

The story of the night, however, was written in the paint!

Micah Krajca delivered a commanding double-double with 12 points and a bruising 15 rebounds, controlling the glass with authority. Lochie McLean matched that interior presence, adding 12 points and 11 rebounds of his own. Together, they turned the lane into a battleground the Wildcats simply couldn't win.

On the perimeter, Julian Jenkins led all scorers with 17 points, slicing through defenders and knocking down key shots to keep the momentum firmly in Palo Alto's hands. Noah Green followed closely with 15 points, providing timely scoring bursts that kept Northwest Vista at arm's length all night long.

While the 96-point offensive explosion will grab headlines, the game was truly won on the defensive end. The Palominos unveiled a full-fledged "no-fly zone" mentality. Guards harassed Vista's shooters into contested looks and shot-clock violations, while the frontline erased easy layups and second-chance opportunities. Forced into a perimeter-heavy attack, the Wildcats eventually went cold under the relentless pressure.

It was a complete performance—balanced scoring, dominant rebounding, suffocating defense, and unwavering energy from the opening whistle to the final buzzer.

No Time to Rest

The Palominos, however, have little time to celebrate. With their perfect conference record on the line, they turn their attention to another tough test on January 18 when they face Austin Community College at home.

If the Palominos continue to gallop at this pace, the rest of the conference may find themselves chasing shadows. The Men's Basketball team look ahead to their next game this Friday at home against out of conference opponent Quality Prep Academy. They then continue conference play next week against Austin Community College on February 18th at 8PM. Come out and watch the Palominos keep the hot streak going!
