Palo Alto College

Matt Gillette serves as the Director of Athletics at Palo Alto College, overseeing all Atheltics, Aquatics, & Campus Recreation Programming. With a strong background in sports management and a deep passion for fostering student-athlete success, Matt brings invaluable experience to our department. He is committed to creating an environment where both our student-athletes and the local community can thrive.

Before joining Palo Alto College, Matt served in a variety of roles within higher education athletics. He most recently served as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Athletics Liaison at Texas Lutheran University, where he played a key role in coordinating recruitment efforts for all 19 sports teams and launching the university's eSports program. At Stephen F. Austin State University, Matt was responsible for NCAA compliance, ensuring the integrity of recruiting operations and awards programs while also educating coaches, staff, and students about critical regulations. Matt also held roles at Baylor Unversity, Houston Dynamo, and NCAA. 

Matt holds a Master of Sports Management from Baylor University, and a Bachelor of Social Studies Education from Texas Lutheran University.
